Business Process Modelling using BPMN

Business Process Modelling Notation (BPMN) is the emerging standard for modelling business processes, the result of the evolution of best practises across multiple process modelling disciplines. It is supported by many of the foremost process modelling as well as workflow tools, and with its underlying mapping to executable process languages such as BPEL is also an important standard for defining executable processes, e.g. service orchestration.

At the Business Process Transformations Group we believe in understanding the big picture, focusing on the business process from customer request to customer fulfilment and appreciating how important our moments of truth with our customers are. BPMN (and the current version, BPMN v1.1) is a rich process modelling notation that can be used very effectively to model business processes from various perspectives, and using it properly can assist with understanding and communicating these processes in support of successful business process transformation.

Learn how to use BPMN to model business processes in a practical, hands-on two-day course that covers:
• Processes that span organisational boundaries
• Detailed internal processes
• Modelling responses to a variety of business events
• Making sense of process decisions and parallel processing
• Asking the right questions during the discovery and analysis of business processes
• Modelling end-to-end business processes
• Designing reusable sub-processes
• Enhancing processes with effective use of artefacts and annotations
